This Diwali, amidst all the noise and busyness of the world, we wanted to do something that brings us — and our community — a little bit of peace and happiness.
For me, that joy has always come from poetry. ✨
Writing poems has a way of slowing us down, helping us notice the glow of diyas, the laughter of children, and the small but beautiful moments that fill our days. And that’s exactly what inspired our latest creative celebration — Rangoli Rhymes! 🌸
🌈 What Is Rangoli Rhymes?
Rangoli Rhymes is a 5-day poetry contest that invites children, teens, and adults to celebrate Diwali through words.
Just like a rangoli is made of colours and patterns, each poem you write will be made of your own thoughts, feelings, and imagination.
From October 20th to 24th, you’ll receive a daily poetry prompt — something inspired by Diwali’s colours, lights, or traditions.
You’ll have until 8 pm each evening to submit your poem.
Each day, one poem will be chosen as the Daily Winner, and at the end of five days, we’ll announce the Grand Winner! 🏆
✍️ Who Can Participate
Everyone!
- Children (8–14 years) – build vocabulary, expression, and imagination
- Teens & Young Adults (15–20 years) – explore emotions and creativity
- Adults – rediscover your voice and reflect on what Diwali means to you
Whether you’re a student, parent, or poetry lover — this contest is a space for everyone to create something beautiful.
💫 Why We’re Doing This
There’s so much happening in the world that feels heavy.
This Diwali, we wanted to share something that feels light — something that brings us together through creativity.
At Know & Grow, we see poetry as more than words. It’s an act of mindfulness, expression, and joy.
Through Rangoli Rhymes, we hope to help our learners — young and old — experience the simple happiness that comes from writing.
🎁 Prizes & Recognition
- 🌼 Certificates for all participants
- 🏆 Daily Winners and one Grand Winner
- 📚 Special prizes and a chance to be featured on our website and social media
We are partnering with You, Me & Poetry to give the participants a chance to perform at their open mike events, either online or offline, or both.
But more than prizes, Rangoli Rhymes is about finding your creative voice and celebrating the spirit of Diwali through words.
